Infection Control For your health and safety, our office meets or exceeds all OSHA requirements for sterilization and infection control. All materials or instruments are either disposable or sterilized with a series of proven methods: (a) ultrasonic cleaning with special solution and disinfectant followed by heat sterilization by autoclave; (b) utilizing a self-contained distilled water system to ensure our water is safe from contamination; (c) routinely cleaning and disinfecting countertops, chairs and other surface areas of the treatment rooms before we see you, using disposables whenever possible. Our patient's safety is our number one priority. We practice universal precautions as recommended by the American Dental Association and OSHA. All our instruments and hand pieces (drills) are autoclaved under the strictest controls. The few items that cannot be autoclaved are either disposable or cold sterilized using chemical solutions. Our staff is trained in the strictest sterilization standards.
